The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) was introduced by the Thailand Cabinet as part of several promotions aimed at boosting tourism. It targets digital nomads, remote workers, and individuals seeking a workcation in Thailand. The DTV allows you to engage in various activities such as Muay Thai, Thai cuisine, education, sports, medical treatment, foreign talent exchanges, seminars, and art and music events.
With the DTV, you can work online for overseas clients while living in Thailand. However, you cannot work for a company in Thailand without a Thai work permit. This section will be updated as more information becomes available from official sources.
The updated DTV allows you to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit, with the visa being valid for five years. You can extend your stay once for a maximum of 180 days, and you also have the option to leave Thailand for one day and immediately restart the clock on your next 180-day period.
