A remote worker is someone who earns a living by taking advantage of remote work. Remote workers may be full-time, part-time, or freelance. They may work for acompany or be self-employed.
"Remote worker" has also become a catch-all phrase that includes digital nomads and all other location-independent workersirrespective of their travel preferences.
Within the digital nomad community, it's common for the term to refer specifically to location-independent workers with full-time employment. Digital nomads, conversely, are perceived as being more likely to be independent freelancers and entrepreneurs.
For the purpose of this report, we have used remote worker in its most encompassing definition.
